PLEASE HELP US IN OUR RELOCATION! ......... Please look at the list to the left. These are the staple food items which we carry in the Food Pantry. There is always a need for these items so whether you donate a few items or a large number of items, please know that they will be very much appreciated. Food donations can be dropped off at 119 South Central Avenue during our regular business hours - 11am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. An after hours donation drop box has been added to the front of the building. It is located beside the front double doors. Drop donations into the grocery cart on the inside of the building after lifting this flap. Arrangements can be made for pickups and deliveries by calling 679-8560. Because of other Pantry expenses (mortgage, utilities, etc.) as well as our NEED to purchase some food items, the Pantry always welcomes monetary donations. No gift is too small and all gifts are appreciated! To make a special monetary donation, please call the Pantry at (606) 679-8560, or mail to: PO Box 259, Somerset, KY 42502. We also accept some fresh produce. We generally have refrigeration and freezer space available and, because we help an average of 38 families per day with their food needs, your produce donation will not stay here long. So, when planting your garden, consider raising an extra row to donate to God's Food Pantry. Your donations to God's Food Pantry are tax deductible and receipts are provided upon request. When you help God's Food Pantry, you are helping your neighbors in need. Donations decline during the summer months. The pantry needs your help to collect food items all year long. Kids are home and are not able to get enough access to food in many homes. Keep in mind when grocery shopping for your family to pick up one or two extra items to donate. If your family likes it, these other children will like it too. Store brand name items are a less expensive alternative and are appreciated. Donate each time you visit the local Kroger stores. Look for the pre-bagged food items on a special table close to the front of the store and they will be picked up daily by our special volunteers. Donations may be left in the blue barrels in the front entrances of our local Wal-Mart store. If your company, school or organization would like to host a food drive and need a collection container, just let us know and we will provide one. There are 35,000,000 people in our country that will need food assistance this year. Our community has a heavy population of Senior Citizens. The pantry is continuing to see an increase of participation among this age group. Lets all be there to help them. Remember to check your shelves at home and donate to the pantry any items that have accumulated over time. During your next visit to town, drop in a donation in the drop box at the front of the building beside the double doors.
